- For Adam and Eve - it is a matter of life and death
- It is a relationship of complete trust that is about to be broken
- Are they going to trust God's word?
- There are great consequences for them and for the rest of humanity
- Enter the serpent (v1)
- More cunning/crafty that any other creature
- Whatever form he takes, who is this serpent?
- Rev 12:9 - It is Satan
- Isaiah 14:14 - He wants to make himself like God
- He speaks with a 'hiss'
- This 'hiss' is disapproving of God's rule
- Satan wants Adam and Eve to rebel against God's rule
- This is the entrance of the first lie
- Against the command - Gen 2:16-17
- He wants to take control of this world
- The whole of humanity hangs in the balance

- She knows the tree is out of bounds
- As humans where do we find our truth (our absolute)?
- The Scriptures are absolute truth
- Eve's actions will bring spiritual and physical death

- God is stopping you from becoming like Him

- Both Eve and Adam ate the forbidden fruit

- I believe the whole bible from start to finish
- Gen 5 - people started dying
- Satan established his kingdom on earth
- Their eyes weren't 'opened' as they were blinded to the truth
- We live these consequences today and the world is a mess

- He is the only way out of this mess
